This year the Geelong Community Foundation celebrates 25 years of community impact.
CEO Amy Waters, reflects that this 25th anniversary is a significant milestone for the Geelong Community Foundation.
“It’s a celebration of 25 years of meaningful partnership with our donors, grant partners, and the wider community,” she said.
“We’re looking forward to reliving our journey, sharing stories and appreciating the hard work of the Foundation and its generous donors, as well as celebrating all of the incredible initiatives we’ve been able to support in the Geelong region.”
“As we reflect on how far we’ve come, we’re also planning strategically for the future, ensuring the Foundation continues to be a strong and enduring resource for our community.”
On 29 May 2025, the Foundation will announce the outcome of the 2025-2026 Main Grant Round and this will mean that, since it was established, the Foundation will have distributed more than $16 million in grants to the community.
Grants will be awarded to organisations and activities that align with the Foundation’s four grants streams;
- Food and Emergency Support;
- Health, Resilience and Connection;
- Education and Employment; and
- Environment and Sustainability.
“Thanks to the generosity of our community and long-term donors like Wightons Lawyers, we’re able to continue to invest into local initiatives, creating lasting positive impact” said Ms Waters.
Wightons Lawyers began their GCF fund in 2018 following their long term support of the foundation. Wightons staff and directors pride themselves on their strong connection to the community, and through hard work and commitment, they are in a lucky position to “give back”.
As the Foundation marks it’s 25th year, there has never been a better time to get involved.
